KMW Global Marathon presents "Central and Western Europe, the UK: industry overview in key facts and figures"

September 14 | 14:40 – 15:30
Ampere Analysis, market-leading media research and analytics firm joins KYIV MEDIA WEEK Global Marathon to overview the major audiovisual production markets in Central and Western Europe and the United Kingdom in 2020.

Drawing on analysis and insight from across the region including the big five markets of the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France, as well as the Nordic region, Ampere will look at how COVID-19 impacted the production sector with creators finding innovative ways to work during lockdown and develop new shows and formats that meant production and commissioning continued through lockdown.

Guy Bisson, the research director of Ampere Analysis and leading TV market analyst, will talk about how scripted and unscripted content was impacted and look at some of the bigger dramas that still made it out, despite the crisis.

To get deeper and first-hand industry insights, Guy is gathering an outstanding panel of experts, featuring representatives of the leading companies from the region: Lucas Green, Head of Content for Banijay Group, Florian Kamhuber, Executive Producer and writer, NEUESUPER and Filippa Wallestam, Chief Content Officer, Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT).

"2020 has been a challenging year for producers and the wider TV sector across the globe, but theentertainment industry has still found ways to ensure that the show can go on and, despite lockdown, a number of exciting new shows have made it on air. While there was a significant downturn in production commissioning once lockdown hit, an upswing in COVID-related shows that could be made despite the crisis meant overall volumes bounced back. As the industry begins its first steps towards normality, I'll be getting the inside story from and talking over the trends and lessons that have been learned with some of the key industry insiders", – Guy Bisson announces.
