KYIV MEDIA WEEK Global Marathon and Prensario International unleash the program of the section "Latin America: a land of opportunities: the evolution from an only-telenovela producer to a full content provider"

September 14 | 17:40 – 18:30
Prensario International, a renowned international media company joins KYIV MEDIA WEEK Global Marathon to bring the best from the Latin America to the global market. The forum will take place online on September 14, it's organized by MRM (Ukraine) with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

The 50-minutes exposition will include a general description of Latin America, a highly-diverse and huge piece of land with 19 territories, two languages spoken (Spanish and Portuguese) and close to 630 million of inhabitants. Latin America hosts two of the largest economies of the world, Brazil and Mexico, which represent 70% of the Sub-continent's GDP and ad investments, while it gathers two of the largest media groups in the world, Globo (Brazil) and Televisa (Mexico).

The section will be moderated by Fabricio Ferrara, international business director of Prensario, who explains: "Latin America has transformed from an only-telenovela producer and exporter (since the '70) to a highly miscellaneous programming and service provider. With new competitors coming from everywhere (Turkey, South Korea, CIS/CEE, among others), the region progressed a lot in the last two decades, showing a maturation of its M&E sector and offering a bigger diversification in content development (type, genre), services, locations/landscapes, talents and incentives that are pushing Latin America (again!) in the global audiovisual map".
Along with the presentation, five key executives from the region's top players will showcase their flagship titles and will underline their insights on how it is doing business from and to Latin America. They will be Manuel Marti, head of fiction Latin America, Fremantle (Mexico), Patricia Jasin, VP, TV Azteca International (Mexico), Estefania Arteaga, International Sales Director, Asia, Caracol International (Colombia), Elena Antonini, sales and coproduction director, Europe, Viacom CBS International Studios (Argentina), and Esperanza Garay, CEO, Mega Global Entertainment (Chile/USA).

Executives will emphasize on the region's momentum, the main advantages, commercial highlights and global businesses, the new genres rising (formats, factual, movies), digital ventures, and the talents behind and in front of the screen, which have attracted the international attention. Also, how COVID-19 has affected their performance and which are the strategies for the future. Moreover, they will remark how is becoming relevant in a highly competitive market with more producers and content generators.
